Guide To Messaging Our Freedoms (2025)

This guide offers updated messages — developed by We Make the Future, ASO Communications and partner organizations — for the fight to protect our freedoms, our families, and our futures against this authoritarian regime and their “flood the zone” tactics. Refreshed for 2025, “Guide to Messaging Our Freedoms”  includes new Spanish language resources and messages you can use to protect our freedom to protest, fight back against anti-DEI attacks, show up for our immigrant neighbors, and more. These messages are rooted in the freedom frame, the Race Class Narrative, Race Class Gender Narrative, and other empirically-backed messaging practices. 

Why we updated the guide for 2025: We know our opposition is doing everything they can to distract and divide us while they test the limits of how much of their authoritarian agenda they can enact at the federal level. We cannot be stuck reacting to the opposition’s efforts to overwhelm us and throw us off course. Instead, we need to proactively name what we are fighting for: Our freedoms, our families, and our futures. What we share here are proven approaches to motivate and inspire our audiences to join us in resistance, and push toward the future we all deserve.
